‘Heritage Jazz’, played host to Acuri, World famous Brazilian instrumental maestros. They performed live at the Gonsalves Mansion on August 15 th 2009, in aid of Brasil Futebol Academia (BFA).On August 17, 2009 Heritage Jazz also organized a workshop with The King's School, Margao.The Workshop was held by the band members themselves, i.e.Pedro Carneiro (Keyboards and Melodica),Cacá Guifer (Flute, Saxophone and Percussion), Roberto Kauffmann (Drums, Percussion and Cavaquinho), Davi Mello (Guitar and Cavaquinho), and Ricardo Sá Reston (Bass, Percussion, Compositions and Arrangements)
The Band commenced by playing for the 200 odd students. They later had an interesting interactive session with them speaking about their music and the instruments they played. The workshop was wildly successful creating a spark in hearts and minds of the youngsters present.
The children were rapt with attention while the band played and later bubbling with questions while interacting with the members.
“The children were very enthusiastic… it was heartwarming to see their energy”, says Ricardo Sá Reston.
